SolarSteam committed to Calgary’s Climate Emergency

SolarSteam is committed and ready to support the City of Calgary’s Climate Emergency Declaration that was announced by the newly-elected mayor Jyoti Gondek. This motion was accepted by the city’s executive committee in November 2021 and targets net zero emissions for the City of Calgary by 2050. A strategic priority for Alberta’s energy sector, the announcement also calls on city administration to develop forward-looking business plans and budgets to invest in emissions reductions and climate risk reduction projects. CEO and co-Founder, Apostol Radev, expressed, “We are ready to accept the challenge to accelerate novel renewable technology deployment as part of the climate emergency declared by our mayor. We have a project specifically developed to enable our city to advance its Environment, Social, and Governance mandate.” SolarSteam is a renewable heat company based in Calgary with a ready-to-implement thermal heat technology which can be deployed in Calgary, Alberta, and other jurisdictions worldwide with ample solar irradiation. The company was selected as a Finalist at the 2021 Mayor’s Innovation Challenge for its Downtown Parkade proposal. “We continue to actively seek for investors and early adopters to join our mission to fulfill these goals, and excited to engage with Calgarians,” says Apostol.
